Research conducted by The Williams Group on 3250 families of wealth around the world showed that most families have excellent estate, trust and wealth preservation plans in place, but if you define plan success by whether wealth remained in control of the family by the end of the second generation, only 30% of those plans will succeed. How do we increase the odds that our client’s plans will be successful? Families have the best chance of successful transition when information is shared about values, expectations, and responsibilities. The family learns together through focused, trusting, and productive family meetings. They communicate the “why” behind the estate plan. This session will provide a framework for conducting successful family meetings.
