Presentation Summary:

Participants will learn about the new developments in California Trusts and Estates law that could impact their practice and create issues for their clients. The speakers will discuss these updates as well as best practices given these changes.

About Our Speakers:

Patrick A. Kohlmann is the managing partner at Temmerman, Cilley, & Kohlmann. He specializes in the areas of estate and business planning, trust and decedent's estate administration, property tax planning, probate, conservatorships, and related trust and estate litigation.

Patrick advises individuals and families in all aspects of wealth transfer planning, including tax-advantaged transfers of assets, multigenerational planning, the taxation of trusts and estates, and business succession counseling.

Erin A. Norcia is a partner at Temmerman, Cilley & Kohlmann, LLP. She joined the firm in 2005. Ms. Norcia's practice focuses on trust, probate, and conservatorship litigation, including but not limited to will contests, trust contests, financial elder abuse, fiduciary removal and surcharge, accounting disputes, reformation, modification, and interpretation of estate planning documents, disputed real property claims, contested conservatorships, and related civil litigation.

Ms. Norcia handles every stage of litigation, including pre-lawsuit negotiation, discovery, law and motion, mediation, arbitration, early neutral evaluation, trial, and appeal. Ms. Norcia is admitted to practice law in all superior courts of California, all appellate courts of California, the Supreme Court of California, and all federal district courts in California.

Jennifer F. Scharre is a Partner with Temmerman, Cilley & Kohlmann, LLP in San Jose, California. Mrs. Scharre's practice includes estate planning, estate administration, beneficiary representations, conservatorship matters and guardianship matters.

Her estate planning practice includes the preparation of revocable trusts, irrevocable trusts, and wills, as well as incapacity planning documents. Mrs. Scharre's trust and decedent's estate administration practice includes representation of trustees, personal representatives, and beneficiaries in all aspects of trust administration and probate including preparation of trust accountings and estate tax returns.
